Once you've set up a usage, you can go ahead and start requesting clearance for content. We recommend doing this as early as possible to get a head start and to have backup shots in mind. As a reminder, content from the creator community has a higher chance of clearing!

  • Login to catchandrelease.com [and, if applicable, ensure you are in your Team].

    • To check if you are in the correct Team, Go to Workspace. You should see <team name> in the upper left. if you see "Your Workspace," use the dropdown arrow to switch to the correct Team.

  • Go to your Project and navigate to the Shots section of your project.

  • Click on the shot thumbnail that you'd like to request clearance for to open the large shot modal. In order to request clearance, you must add Usage details to the project.

  • Click on Add details for estimate and follow the steps to create the Usage details:

  • You will be prompted to select which people and properties you would like us to attempt to clear. Check and uncheck to select or deselect:

  • For videos, you may also be prompted to add/select a timecode, telling us which portion of the video you want to use. Please note you can add multiple timecodes. Noting the specific timecode/s helps keep license costs down and speeds up clearance time!

  • Click the blue 'Start clearance $X' button to add the shot to your Cart.

  • Repeat these steps for any additional shots you want to move into clearance.

  • Go to your cart and check out like a normal online checkout. The fee will be $250/shot or $0/shot if it is from our Creator Community

    • Set a Clearance Priority to indicate how you'd like us to prioritize work on shots in your usage, free of charge. We will still work to clear all shots in clearance, regardless of priority.

You will receive email updates, and you can also view progress in your account in the shots table or on the shot page itself.
