A dynamic early signal of licensability

The Confidence Rating is a new feature designed to help you quickly understand how likely it is that a shot can be licensed. It appears as an emoji on each shot and updates in real time as we gather more information. This rating helps you make faster, smarter decisions as you curate and clear content for your project.

Why it matters

  • Quickly identify promising shots
The emoji gives you an at-a-glance sense of which shots are most likely to clear.

  • Stay informed as you work
Confidence Ratings are dynamic and can update based on what we learn throughout the project.

  • Reduce time spent on low-potential content
Ratings help you focus your effort where it matters most.

How the Confidence Rating works

The Confidence Rating updates throughout the life of a shot:

  1. When a shot is added to your project, it gets an initial rating based on where it came from and what’s already known about it.

  2. If you or your team add context, such as timecodes or notes, the rating may adjust.

  3. As our systems and team review the shot, the rating continues to evolve.

  4. During clearance, the rating may shift again based on progress with rights holders.

💡 Tip: Adding a timecode helps us better understand what part of the content you intend to use, which can lead to a more accurate Confidence Rating.

What each emoji means

You can view Confidence Ratings on each shot and filter your project by rating to focus your selection.

Things to keep in mind

  • Confidence Ratings are not guarantees. They are directional signals to guide you, not final clearance outcomes.

  • They do not reflect budget or price. A shot rated “Very Likely” may still fall outside your pricing targets depending on your usage needs.

  • They can change. Ratings update as we gather new information or make progress with rights holders.

Best practices

  • Prioritize “Very Likely” and “Likely” shots when building your clearance shortlist

  • Use timecodes whenever possible to focus on specific moments within a video

  • Keep an eye out for updated ratings as your project progresses
