Selects are a fast, intuitive way to identify and organize the shots you’re leaning toward. Whether you’re gathering early inspiration or refining a final edit, marking Selects helps your creative team stay aligned and your clearance team move faster.

Why Make Selects?

  • Bring your best shots to the top of the Project

  • Automatically organize your picks into a Storyboard

  • Simplify decision-making across your team

  • Help speed up clearance by signaling intent

How to Make a Select

  1. Navigate to a shot in your Project.

  2. Hover over the shot thumbnail.

  3. Click the star icon in the upper-right corner.

    • The star will turn gold to confirm the shot has been selected.

Once a shot is marked as a Select:

  • It floats to the top of your Project view.

  • It is automatically added to a Storyboard.

    • If you don’t have one yet, you’ll be prompted to create a new Storyboard.

  • Your team members will see the same Selects, creating a shared shortlist.

How to Remove a Select

  1. Hover over the selected shot.

  2. Click the gold star again to unselect it.

    • The shot will move back to its original order in the Project.

    • It will also be removed from any associated Storyboard.

Best Practices

  • Use Selects early to identify strong contenders.

  • Return and revise as your edit evolves—Selects are flexible.

  • Combine with notes and scene grouping in your Storyboard for added context.

Selects give you control and clarity—so your creative and production teams can move forward, together.
